“…Today we feature the work of the Chicago-area sextet, Canasta. The group took the stage for the first time last December, but over the past twelve months the band has built a considerable fan base through their strong live performances. This week Canasta commits their sound to permanent record when they put out their debut release entitled Find the Time On this five-song release the band brandishes their love of orchestral pop. Find the Time captures the melding of guitar, piano, violin, and trombone. The songs gradually build in a slow burn, eventually igniting a chamber-pop explosion. So on our local music corner today, from their debut album, here's Canasta, with their song, “Chance at Greatness.”
