CANASTA - Minneapolis (This Wed.) + Chicago (Sat. 6/21 & Tue. 6/24)

No time for pleasantries! Too much going on! On to the hard facts!

1) Following the success of our recent remix record, the Canasta line-up has decided to go ahead and remix itself as well. Last month, you met our new keyboardist, Ian Wilson. This month, we'd like to introduce to our new pianist, Kyle Mann! Please welcome him into the fold with the same love and respect you'd expect, if you were the one joining the band (and yes, we received your demo tape, but no, you can't join our band.)

2) Canasta is playing at the legendary 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis this Wed. night, 6/11. We're also showcasing ourselves, as they say, for the fine folks at Afternoon Records. So please come out and help us melt their faces. We're excited. And we're in the middle slot at 9:30. More details below.

3) As we all know, Chicago is famous for two things... one is pizza, the other is Canasta. Thus, we are pleased to announce that the first time in the city's history, the two will be appearing together! It happens on Sat. 6/21 at Fullerton and Racine and they're calling it "Pizza Fest"... we're calling it "Canasta Fest"... to each his/her own, I guess. We're on at 2. Again, details below.

4) If, however, greasy cheese in the hot sun isn't your idea of a perfect musical outing, then please consider rocking with us three days later, on Tue. 6/24, when Canasta makes its triumphant return to Empty Bottle. This will be the Chicago debut for the aforementioned Mr. Mann (that has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?). Missing it would undoubtedly leave you leave you feeling strangely empty inside. We're on first at 9. Here come those details I've been promising... Hope to see you at one of the above shows, if not all three (you maniac!)
