CANASTA - 5:30 TONIGHT @ MILLENNIUM PARK + THIS SAT. @ ANDERSONVILLE MUSIC FEST

(sent on 2006-09-21)

Hey folks,

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Beat Kitchen last night. This is just a little note to announce that we've got a couple more shows in the next few days:

TODAY we're playing a free show at Millennium Park at 5:30 PM. No, it's not at the Pritzker Pavilion, with the CSO as our backing band. But it is a pretty cool outdoor space nonetheless: Park Grill on the Plaza, right along Michigan Avenue between Monroe and Randolph. Classy, huh?

And then on SATURDAY, we'll be performing at the all-ages Andersonville Music & BBQ Festival, held in the St. Gregory's Church parking lot at Ashland and Catalpa. The day-long event is a benefit for the church and should be a bib-dripping good time. Joining us will be our friends The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, along with Outlaw Family Band, The Delafields, Devil in a Woodpile, and others. We'll take the stage around 6 PM.

If you haven't seen us in a while, now's a good time to come, since we probably won't be playing another local show until November. It'll also be your last chance to see former Canasta guitarist Jeff Leverenz perform with us (he'll be filling in at both shows), as well as your ONLY chance to see Brighton, MA drummer Sam Koentopp sit behind the Canasta kit. Yes, that's right, at Saturday's show only, Sam will be sitting in for Colin, who'll be out of town. A match made in heaven? Come and decide for yourself!

See you soon!
