CANASTA - Wheaton THIS SAT. + Empty Bottle WED. 3/1

(sent on 2006-02-09)

Winter cheers to all of you!

We in Canasta would like to remind those of you in the suburbs (or those of you up for a mini-road trip!) that we're playing the Wheaton Grand Theater this Saturday, February 11, on an all-ages bill. We'll be joined by our friends The Fake Fictions and The Lesser Scene, as well as a couple of bands we don't know quite as well, although we can assure you they will bring the rock. It's an early show, starting at 6 PM, so you can count on us hitting the stage around 8:45 or so.

But if you're anxious for us to get back to playing in Chicago proper, how's this? Wednesday, March 1. Empty Bottle. Opening for Charlemagne and Swearing at Motorists. We just found out, so if any of that sounds appealing, be sure to swing by and rock out with us. It should be a great show.

Lastly, it appears we were received well in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago. Which is nice, because we certainly enjoyed playing there! In her positive review at HowWasTheShow.com, Andrea Myers says (among other nice things) that we “maintained symphonic balance to an impressive degree while cycling through many different nuances and styles.” Indeed.

See you soon!
