CANASTA - Schubas (FRI. 7/15) + Madison (MON. 7/11) + PersonalProfiles

(sent on 2005-06-30)

Hello Canasta fans!

Personal Profiles
As you know, we've been doing some website updates lately. The latest addition is a new section where you can read all about your favorite Canasta member and learn about his or her likes and dislikes, Tiger Beat-style. We'll probably be changing and adding to this section frequently, so be sure to check in often! You can find the links to all six at:

Schubas Date
Thanks to everyone who showed up to our Empty Bottle gig last weekend. If you missed us, never fear. Our next show is coming up very soon: we'll be playing at Schubas on Friday, July 15, playing just before atmospheric dream-rockers Neva Dinova and just after indie balladeers Mayday (on Saddle Creek, with members of Cursive and Head of Femur). This may be our last Chicago date for a while, as we finish up our record, so please come and hang out with us! We'll be playing another brand new song and we promise it will be a memorable show.

Show in Madison
Then again, if you happen to reside in the vicinity of Madison, WI, then you're also in luck: we will playing your fair burg on Monday, July 11, at the High Noon Saloon. This time, we'll be sharing the stage with Nicolai Dunger, an earnest solo act from Sweden who's collaborated with Mercury Rev and Will Oldham. Paul Fonfara (ex-16 Horsepower) opens the show.

We're very excited about our first date in Madison, so we want to encourage anyone in Chicago who would like to come to the show to contact us, and we'll try to set up some rides. It'll be like a little road trip! If you can't make it, please spread the word among anyone you know in the area -- we'd just love to have a nice crowd on hand to see us.

Hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows!
