You may have been sleeping in Saturday morning, but we were out braving the wet, cold, early hours at our second appearance at Step Out to Stop the Abuse. Continuing a trend of quiet performances, Canasta gave a little back to the community by providing the entertainment for this fundraiser. The annual event is co-sponsored by Rainbow House (Megan's former place of employment), an organization we were happy to help out for a second year. Thanks to those who made it out to a rather unusual, damp venue!

We've been busy with a few quiet shows lately. The first was a private party at Piece, at which we debuted, upon request, a Canasta cover of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together." We had a great time with the song, adding Mr. Green to our short, eclectic list of covered artists along with Belle & Sebastian and Kraftwerk.
We followed that up this past Monday with a set at the launch party for badresa.com, a new site covering important topics like Chicago's indie scene and where to get good a hotdog. We wish you the best of luck with it, Theresa!
Also, be sure to check out the photos from our Wicker Park show - its a pleasant departure from the usual dim stage photos from our night shows. Canasta in the sunshine!
