We had a great time playing at The House and at Schubas, thanks to all who came out to support us. Now, though, our sights have turned to our next few shows. We're packing our bags full of toothbrushes, pajamas and amplifiers and heading to New York soon for the CMJ festival. A few days later we open for one of our favorite bands, The Delgados. Check out all the details on our shows page.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the show last night. We had a great time playing for such a terrific audience!

As we mentioned at the show, Canasta has some exciting dates ahead. Our first out of town show is this Monday in DeKalb at The House. Following that, you can catch us playing Hoot Night at Schubas on Thursday. It'll feature a number of local musicians playing covers along a chosen theme. We can't say too much more about it, but it'll be a fun show. And then of course the CMJ show in October. We now have a venue, Arlene's Grocery, as well as two terrific additions to the lineup that night, The Changes and The M's.

And be sure to check back for more information about our show with The Delgados in late October.

We're excited to announce that Canasta has been accepted to play NYC's CMJ Music Marathon! In fact, we're headed out with other local acts Tenki, SYGC, and Head of Femur as part of a Chicago showcase. More info to follow, but mark your calendars for Thursday, October 14th: Canasta's New York premier!
